Seedance 2.5: longer clips and many more references
Announced on 31 July 2026: clips of up to 30 seconds, far more reference material, and the ability to change part of a clip.

ByteDance announced Seedance 2.5 on 31 July 2026. It follows Seedance 2.0 and keeps the same idea, a model that takes text, pictures, video and sound as input, with longer clips, more references and more control over editing. These are the points from ByteDance’s own announcement.
What ByteDance announced
- Clips of up to 30 seconds in one generation, which can be extended over several rounds while keeping characters and scenes consistent.
- Up to 30 images, 10 video clips and 10 audio clips as references in a single request, with new reference types including motion and clay-render references.
- Editing with timestamp-level control, so audio and video can be changed at a chosen moment, plus green-screen, camera-angle and reference-based edits.
- Better image, audio and motion quality, with smoother shot changes and scene continuity for longer pieces.
- A first rollout through ByteDance’s own Jimeng AI and Doubao apps, with developer access through BytePlus announced as coming soon.
What it means for an advert
Most adverts are 10 to 30 seconds, so a 30-second limit means a whole advert can be one generation rather than a set of stitched clips. More reference slots matter for the two things advertisers care about most: the same person and the same product in every shot. Local editing matters because the common request after watching a draft is “keep all of that, change one thing”.

In Crewnema
Seedance 2.5 is the video model at Crewnema’s Max quality level, paired with GPT Image 2.5 for the stills. It is the most expensive level, so it is the one to choose for a hero advert once you have approved a cheaper draft. Seedance 2.0 sits at High, the default. The levels are explained here.
